About Marlize Myburgh
Marlize Myburgh obtained a bachelor's degree in Jewellery Design from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Through her studies and beyond, Marlize proved that she had a special talent for design by attaining various awards, including the De Beers Shining Light Award and the AngloGold Riches of Africa prize.
In the summer of 2005, Marlize and her family relocated to Melbourne, where she continued her studies. In 2009 Marlize received a Diploma of Jewellery Design from Box Hill TAFE. During June and July of the same year, she completed an artists’ residency program at the Cité Internationale Des Arts in Paris.
Marlize loves to experiment with different techniques and materials and in doing so, discovers new creative opportunities all the time. She also likes to play with the different textures of clays, surface applications and colour.
